In recent years we have gained a lot of knowledge in the field of tuning and optimizing engines. Where it used to be simply a matter of changing jets and needles in carburetors, nowadays you can no longer avoid using the computer to arrange the fine adjustment.
In addition to the various factory updates (software) that Moto Guzzi and Triumph regularly release, we have gained knowledge in adjusting the software ourselves. We now have the most recent software packages to not only adjust the basic settings of the motorcycles to be adjusted, but also to be able to implement far-reaching changes to the software. For example, we can now provide the entire injection cabinets (ECUs) with new and adapted mappings: shifting ignition timings, temperature corrections and enrichments, as well as bypassing the Lambda control are all possible.
We do not use a power/test bench, but make our runs with connected measuring equipment on public roads. Under circumstances that you also have to deal with on a daily basis. What we can improve, among other things:
- Exploding in the exhaust
- Poor cold start
- On/off effect at the bottom of the revs
- Unsettled throttle response/speed (e.g. when driving in traffic jams)
- Power dip in the improve midrange
